The death toll from the recent explosion at a liquid petroleum gas (LPG) cylinder filling shop in Hyderabad’s Preetabad area rose to 12 on Monday, as two more injured individuals succumbed to their injuries, according to ARY News.
The catastrophic blast occurred on the ground floor of Zacha Bacha Hospital, located along Mir Nabi Bux Town Road in Union Council 8 of Neerunkot. The explosion not only caused immediate fatalities but also inflicted severe injuries on many.
The Karachi Civil Hospital is currently treating 11 injured victims, with seven in critical condition. Additionally, at least 60 individuals, predominantly young people, suffered significant burn injuries. Liaquat University Hospital (LUH) initially provided emergency care to these victims before transporting them to Karachi for further treatment.
In response to the tragedy, Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah, accompanied by other ministers, visited the Burns Ward to check on the health of the injured patients and discuss their ongoing care and recovery.
Authorities are continuing their investigation into the cause of the explosion, while the local community mourns the devastating loss of life and prays for the swift recovery of the injured.
