Asia Cup: Historic win for INDIA as it sweeps Sr Lanka in 50 runs, 10 wkts

Asia Cup: It is a historic day and a proud moment for the Men in Blue today, as they win Asia Cup for the Eighth time. India wins with 263 balls to score their biggest ever victory in terms of balls remaining. India beat Srilanka by 10 wickets in the Asia Cup 2023 final at the R. Premadasa stadium in Colombo.

Indian Cricketer Mohammad Siraj claimed six wickets of Srilanka. While the Indian openers Shubham Gill and Ishan Kishan made an excellent chase as Srilanka looked here and there throughout the match. India chased down 51 run target in just 6.1 overs to makes record to 8th Asia Cup title. Cricketer Kuldeep Yadav wins player of the series in the tournament, “ For the last one and a half year I have been working on my rhythm, being more aggressive through the crease. Giving Credit to the captain Rohit Sharma, Kuldeep said “He encouraged me to work on my speed and that worked”.

When fast bowlers give you couple of wickets in power play, it becomes easy for the spinners, he added. When there is good bonding between fast bowlers, it is helpful for the team said Mohammad Siraj.

Congratulating the Indian Team for the Asia Cup win, Sri-Lankan captain Dasun Shanaka said, “It was outstanding bowling from Siraj. I thought it will be a good pitch for batters, but overcast conditions played a part. It was a tough day for us, we could have tightened our techniques, would have helped batters to settle in and free their arms later. He praised and thanked the supporters who came in large number to watch the match. We know how to bounce back from tough situation”.
